Description

This is a personal piece that comes from my social issues side, I take a lot of time to make taboo subjects known and the damage they do, this is a simplified version without all the facts and details. I used two colors for the obvious, boy and girls, and tried to make for a darker take on a theme noone wants to talk about. I had fun using a different style and approach, again the idea is to keep these kid friendly but yet with an adult overtones.

Good concept for a rather creepy social issue, this really makes you think. Variety of stages of death added a great deal to that sicking feeling you were seeking. The pink and blue backround works generally, however a more dilapidated backround you may find to fit better with your theme. Where the pink and blue meet seems to be a corner, adding a metal strip could be more recognizable as a the grabber game and make it look less flat. Well done on tackling such a powerful issue and for your unique take on the subject.

Thought provoking work.

The question is of course this: would it be better to have an abortion than have the child and not look after him/her properly?

I don't know the answer to that.

Of course people should have brains enough to use contraceptives rather than get to that stage. Unfortunately we live in a world of fools, so they don't. Which is why more and more people are growing up and making the same mistakes as their parents...

Good work.

I bet you are a Christian too!

I like the design but I dont agree with the message. Things aint always that black and white in life.

I love the concept but I think you should work more on the background. Make it an actual claw grabing game, in the case and everything. I think that would make your point stand out a little bit more. Espically if you have people walking behind the glass not paying any attention to the claw game.

ive always been of the opinion that it should be safe and legal for those who want it just that it should be early. for those who dont, then its upto them. but even if its illegal, then those who need it done will do anything possible to get it.

a good concept indeed and hard one for sure, i already expressed my thoughts about this abortion concept too. but your concept is another view of it. we all seem to go through this theme.

You have expressed your view very well and the artwork works on many levels. Very well done!

In one respect this is perhaps your best work, simply because people are commenting on the themes and ideas it expresses and not whether your anatomy is a bit wonky or colour palette a tad dull.........etc.etc.etc.

.....However, on the other hand I'm fully with Andy-Jones on this one, Pro-lifers might find this a work of genius, I find it a depressingly simplistic approach to a massively complex issue.

But well done for giving GFXers a poke in the eye and making us think about the idea and not just the technique. :)

because i dont agree at all with the subject matter, and am in fact pro choice for personnel reasons. im going to comment on the drawing itself. although the imagery is quite disturbing, i like how you stayed true to your own style. the coloring itself i find a HUGE improvement, i think your color choices really fit the mood, and i think the shadows are very well done. i especially love the crane, looks very old and rusted. i guess the one thing im not really fond of is the background, everything else here has so much texture and character, and the bg is so, flat. maybe if you were to make it like glass it would fit better, i find
most crane games have either clear glass or some type of picture pertaining to the prizes inside, id say other than that great work...

do you want people to merly go like: hey yeah.. people should talk more about this
or would you actually want to see a discussion here... cause if you do I'm dying to get some things of my chest but I won't if that was not our intention.
Anyhows.. it's a very strong image and love the gorping thing concept.. I don't get the pink and blue thing though, babies are babies is there a difference between baby boys and girls that has to do something with abortion that I am not aware of?

Good design eventhough I've always been and should always be in the opposition to the message XD The colour sheme is nice, but I think some of the edages could be cleaned up a bit more.
