Description

Shell we is a surreal drawing that I intended to have a more of a high realism look than my normal posts.I used an image I really like I found in a 1992 national geographic issue. I thought It was cool this turtle was big enough to sit on! The refferene picture unfortunately was 2x5 inches an when I photo copied it to b/w it became impossible to see so I abandoned it. I made up the top and just kinda winged it. I hope you like it. I did not post the progress this time.
24 hrs 18x24 mechanical pencil, and 2h - 8b
the photo doesn't do this justice undfortunately. I hid a bunch of things up top for fun see if you can find them.

Found a toad, an ealge head, a slug, a bird and a smiley! :p I liked the drawing, specially the girl's face. But I'd like to see a turtle face as well, and her swimsuit seems loose! I mean, on her shoulder, you got it? GJ!

Great work, the shading is very good! The turtle she's riding looks a little bit blurry, it may be due to the photo :(
Very nice one!

This is different from your other works, and though they are very good I must say I like this one much better.

The back of the girl is a bit confusing

just kind of winged it? well it works out great...and yeah, it kind of separates itself from your body of work, given that its got the element of realism and less the imagination.

Wow! Aaron you've really progressed since I last saw your work. Haven't been on lately as you should know... Hmm, Well I really like this drawing. It to me is my favourite of yours so far.

I like the turtles, I think their actually called something else. I've seen a real one in real life, I could pretty much patt it if I wanted to. I was at a reptile park and they were feeding and walking it. It was 100 years old or something or close to that. Anyway I'm going off track.. So yes I really like this drawing. Surreal I see, I like the expression on her face, her pose and as I said the turtles lurking around. I also like the technique used to create this lovely drawing.

Well done!
Cheers +10

Like the image, but the execution could have been better. Everything is a bit stiff and no aerial perspective has been applied. Learn to create differences between planes, the back-middle-and foreground. This can make a dramatic difference to the work.
